The film Every Cook Can Govern is now finished, but the journey is not over. In the next few months we have plenty of screenings and promotion to do, to ensure the film is seen by as many people as possible. Unlike mainstream TV & commercial outfits we have no marketing budget- but with your help we can ensure thousands get to know about it. So if you have lots of time to volunteer or very little or are looking for an internship or work experience or like us, just hope to make an impact with challenging ideas, we’d be thrilled to have you on board. We don’t need CV’s and we welcome volunteers from around the corner and across the globe. C.L.R. James believed ‘Every Cook can Govern’ and we believe every volunteer can ensure this ultimate documentary about a man who believed we can all make history, makes a world-wide impact. To get involved just complete the contact form at the bottom of this page. For more volunteering opportunities visit our Team London webpage here. To catch up on the C.L.R. James buzz, read on.
If you would like to know more about C.L.R. James works, below are some recommended reads.
To get started do watch our introductory videos. We have also come up with a selection of writings which provide a brief overview of the different themes James explored during his lifetime that we have investigated in our film.
C.L.R. James was a prolific writer to say the least – indeed the engraving on his tombstone reads ‘C.L.R. James – Man of Letters’. Happily, he was a man with not only a talent for ideas, but his writing at its best has the flow and structure of the finest literary novels.
